YoungDrive - Frequently asked questions

Are the vehicles safe?

All motor sport has an element of danger including quad bikes, however, provided you and your party are able to follow our simple safety instructions your adventure will pass without incident.

We give a full safety briefing at the beginning of each session and then further safety briefings at the vehicles. For all activities a safe area is provided for you and your group to stay either behind tyres or away from vehicles.

We can restrict the vehicles depending on the ability of the group, therefore, reducing the risk of accident. We also provide aproprate safety equipment depending on the activity.

Are there any age restrictions?

Yes, our larger 125cc quad bikes have a minimum age requirement of 10 years old and our junior 50cc quads are suitable for 8 to 10 years old.

Our 4x4 Mini-Trial buggy can be driven by over 12 year olds, however, we do offer rides for younger children.

The minimum age for our quad obstacle course is 12.

Our Rallykart course is only suitable for over 10 years old.

Do I need experience of riding a quad bike?

No. even if you have never driven a bike or car the controls are quite simple and there is an instructor by your side to help. We are sure you will quickly get to grips with these awesome machines. We provide full training and our extremely patient instructors are experts in getting even the most nervous people feeling confident by the end of the session.

What should I wear?

We are an outdoor centre so clothing and footwear should appropriate to the whether conditions. We request that participants do not wear, flip flops or heals for safety reasons.

We also advise you to bring a change of clothes for the trip home.

Can we bring our own quad bike?

No, for insurance and safety purposes all of our sessions are instructor led. We only allow the use of personal quad bikes or vehicles as we can not ensure your safety.

I've noticed some other centres are closed over the winter months, why is this? Is it a safety issue?

Quad Biking is far more fun when it's wet and muddy and if anything it is slightly safer due to the softer ground conditions.

Our courses are constantly monitored, maintained and changed in accordance with the weather conditions and improvements, so you don't miss out on the best conditions!

Can I bring groups of 7-11 children for a party?

We work on the basis of 1 instructor per 6 children as we find that this is just the right length of time for each child to have on the activities.

On some occasions we will allow up to 7 participants in a group as long as they are over 10 years, however, this will depend on the circumstances.

Can my 7 year old take part?

We can sometimes accept children as young as 7, however, this may not always be the case depending on the circumstances.

Height may also be a restricting factor for a child of 7 years old and it will be down to the discretion of the instructor on the day.

Is there somewhere we can have food on site?

There are several picnic benches around the site or if it is raining then we offer our double decker buss as shelter.

Can adults take part?

We do allow adults to participate; however, there is an additional fee as follows:

2 hour event £22.00 extra per adult

2.5 hour event it is £27.00 extra per adult
